Pig Pickin Update

Success! Beautiful weather, homemade sauce came out pretty well, 90 guests, plenty of food.

We were especially thrilled that R&S came down from Chicago for the big event, and that both sets of grandparents could be here.

Pictures to follow (we've been having trouble with our ISP)--

The homemade sauce came out great. I felt like I was eating NC pork straight from one of the little roadside places -- you know, the *best* kind. In fact, I wish I had some right now!

Chicago 'cue just isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Is there even such a thing as Chicago barbecue? How can such a thing be?

Yeah, that is my fault!! I meant to send some home with you all but totally forgot in all that was going on. Sorry! Guess you will have to come back for some more. :)

Apparently people think that Chicago BBQ exists. We sampled some that was supposed to be an outstanding representative. Once.

There's automatically going to be a problem in a place where the phrase "barbecue" is used when what people really mean is "grill."

Our pastor, Bob, who is from the South, used the phrase in church to announce our summer cook-out, and all the Southerners in the audience hooted him down. :)
